Press Release

WTTC to support small business growth with latest initiative

October 7, 2025

The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) has launched its new initiative, Together in Travel, aimed at transforming the operations and success of small to medium enterprises (SMEs) within the global travel industry.

Andrea Grisdale, founder and CEO of IC Bellagio, has been appointed as vice chair, alongside thirteen founding partners including Abercrombie & Kent Group, Accor, Diriyah Gate, Finn Partners, Hilton, Intrepid, Microsoft, MSC Cruises, Omran, Red Carnation Hotels, Trip.com Group, VFS Global, and Virtuoso.

Climate resilience directly contributes to the stability of tourism destinations. By implementing measures to mitigate and adapt to climate change, destinations can protect their natural resources, which are often the primary attractions for tourists. For instance, destinations like Puerto Rico and the Philippines have developed sophisticated resilience strategies that include climate risk assessments, biodiversity conservation plans, and hazard mapping.1,2 These measures help preserve beaches, forests, and other natural assets that are crucial for tourism.
